{ A PASTOR’S ORDINARY LIFE ENERGIZES HIS CONGREGATION }
Manu Rangarajan climbs up the steep, homemade bamboo ladder that leads to his personal sanctuary up in the trees. Morning sunlight streams in through the woven palm-leaf walls
that enclose part of his space. He sits on his mat, the only
thing in this simple, quiet place, and opens his Bible to read.
It’s early in the morning, but Manu has already been up for
two hours, storing up strength and faith to go through the
day—and now he spends a few more moments in God’s Word
before his day begins. // Manu serves in a village nestled in
the humid interior jungle lands of Sri Lanka—the same
village where he grew up. There’s nothing spectacular about
this Gospel for Asia-supported pastor, nothing that, by
Western standards, would draw a crowd or grow a church.
His faith is simple; his demeanor is humble. Yet Manu’s
congregation is healthy and continues to multiply.
