When native missionary Suraj Mag
ar first traveled to Tienbeh,* Nepal, he was co
nvinced he’d
pretty much come to the end of the earth. “When I first arrived in Tienbeh, I wondered how
I could share the Gospel there. The only access to the village is by foot, on trails through mountain
gorges,” Suraj said. “And leeches are a problem during the rainy season. They climb on you from all
directions and suck your blood. Some even drop down from the trees.” Needless to say, Suraj did not
form a favorable first impression of this tiny, ancient settlement of 600 residents. But years later, he would
look back and see how—through tears, victories, rejection, joys and a lot of hard work—God had given
